Shawn Fain has served the UAW at every level for over 20 years, primarily for five terms as a Skilled Trades Committeeperson and Shop Chair at Local 1166 (Stellantis Kokomo Casting Plant), as well as 10 years as a UAW International Representative. Shawn has extensive experience with negotiations at the local and national level.

Shawn Fain has served the UAW at every level for over 20 years, primarily for five terms as a Skilled Trades Committeeperson and Shop Chair at Local 1166 (Stellantis Kokomo Casting Plant), as well as 10 years as a UAW International Representative. Shawn has extensive experience with negotiations at the local and national level.

Shawn opposed the 3/2/120 schedule when it was initially launched in 2003 at Mack Engine Plant, as well as the Global Engine Manufacturing Alliance (GEMA) agreements. He stood against ratifying the 2007 National agreement that implemented the two-tier system at Chrysler. Shawn also worked with other international staff and local leaders to stop the conductor initiative that threatened the livelihood of skilled trades workers that then-VP Norwood Jewell agreed to with Chrysler behind closed doors.

In 2003, he was able to insource WK Axle through negotiations at Detroit Axle. From 2008 to 2010, he fought with both the company and General Holiefield to try to stop the Marysville Axle deal. He and other were kicked out of the Solidarity House over their actions to stop the spin off of the Detroit Axle Plant and protect the membership. In 2013, he was part of the group of Skilled Trades who appealed the decision of the IEB to implement the 2011 Chrysler National agreement to the PRB after it was rejected by workers.

LaShawn English is the three-term president of Local 1264 (Chrysler Sterling Stamping, Sterling Heights, MI) and has been a national negotiator for Chrysler (2015-2019). She has previously also served on the Region 1 Skilled Trades Council and as well as the Region 1 Women’s Council.

LaShawn played an integral role in stopping the dreaded 3/2/120 work schedule at Sterling Stamping. She also fought for and won an alternative schedule with 36 hours of work for a full 40 hours of pay. LaShawn has been a UAW member for 22 years.

Daniel Vicente is currently the Recording Secretary of UAW Local 644, where he works as a machine operator. He also serves as the Vice Chair of the Bargaining Committee (Dometic Unit), Education Chair, and Delegate to the 2022 Constitutional Convention. Last but not least, he’s a father of four, husband to his amazing wife Eman, and a Mar

Last but not least, he’s a father of four, husband to his amazing wife Eman, and a Marine Corps Veteran (2008-2012).

As Regional Director, he will prioritize fighting for higher wages and COLA reinstatement and increases. He’s proud of the contract he negotiated for Dometic, which includes NO TIERS and a 45-day progression for temps. As a delegate, he voted against IEB pay raises, and as Regional Director pledges to donate 34% of his wages back to the union.

Brandon Mancilla is a proud member of UAW Local 5118, the Harvard Graduate Students Union (HGSU), where he has worked as a teaching and research assistant, and where he helped organize a 29-day strike in December 2019 against the wealthiest university in the world. He became the first President of Local 5118 and worked aggressively to enforce their first contract and negotiate their second.

He’s now a staff organizer with UAW 2325 (Association of Legal Aid Attorneys, ALAA), where he has successfully negotiated three contracts and is in the middle of negotiating six more.
